Mitsubishi introduces an exciting new monitor: a 22-inch (20-inch viewable) truly flat-screen, distortion-free desktop CRT. Patented Natural Flat (NF) technology significantly reduces external reflections and glare for easier viewing and decreased eyestrain. Unlike other flat-screen monitors, the Diamond Pro 2020u does not distort the image and create a concave visual effect on the screen. This is a remarkable achievement, especially for a monitor of this size. How does Mitsubishi accomplish this feat? First, they apply a curve to the internal screen surface and aperture grille which, in essence, pre-distorts the image, thus compensating for the glass refraction that causes image rise at the screen edges. Second, an improved P-NX electron gun reduces spot size and increases screen focus uniformity, teaming with improved deflection yoke technology, which improves beam landing. The result is a brighter, sharper, and flatter crt computer monitor. Moreover, Mitsubishi has invented a proprietary glass DiamondLite system, a unique tempering process which increases the strength and reduces the weight of the glass, thus achieving a flatter screen. This DiamondLite Glass technology also permits a thinner faceplate, which reduces parallax distortion to negligible levels. As if that weren't enough, Mitsubishi also enhances the life and brightness of the CRT itself by incorporating a special coating to the cathode. As a result, this high-density CRT will deliver crisp images much longer than a conventional, lower-density CRT. Ideal for the most demanding graphics and desktop publishing applications, this monitor supports an incredible 1800x1440 resolution at a flicker-free 80 Hz. A high-contrast anti-reflection screen coating ensures optimum image quality and strain-free viewing. For total control of screen settings, an enhanced on-screen display (OSD) system provides multi-language, icon based control and intuitive front-panel buttons. Integrated into the monitor, a compact tilt-swivel base allows a wide range of viewing angles. The compact design gives you greater screen real estate for less desktop space. The Diamond Pro 2020u features a self-powered USB hub that provides two upstream and three downstream ports. Two independent computers may share a single set of USB devices. Fully Plug and Play ready for ease of use, this monitor is compatible with IBM, VGA, SVGA, XGA-2, VESA, Apple Macintosh LC, Macintosh II, and Quadra graphics standards. VESA DPMS power management saves energy and resources when used with compatible systems, and TCO-95 compliance guarantees low electromagnetic emissions. These monitors will run fine with any PC computer or Apple Mac G3 or powermac G4. However, they need a special adapter to work with the Powermac G5 or Intel based macs, that all have DVI ports, rather than the SVGA/ Dsub15 this screen comes with.
